1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how DouLove LLC (“DouLove,” “Company,” "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and otherwise processes personal information when you create an account or use the Platform.
Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings assigned to them in the DouLove Terms of Service (“Terms”), into which this Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference.
2. SCOPE
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Platform, including when you create an account, use Platform features, communicate with other Users, or otherwise interact with us through the Platform.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information exchanged outside the Platform or to third-party websites or services that we do not own or operate.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
3.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name; email address; password; account type; age range; location information, such as your ZIP code; and other information necessary to create, administer, and secure your account.
3.2 Information from Customers
If you create a Customer account, we also collect information you provide in connection with your account and profile, which may include:
who is giving birth;
whether the pregnancy involves a singleton or multiples;
due date;
birth history;
prior experience with doula services;
planned birth setting;
profile photo;
information about how you heard about DouLove
3.3 Information from Providers
If you create a Provider account, we also collect information you provide in connection with your account and profile, which may include:
profile photos;
biography and professional information;
information about the services you offer;
professional qualifications, certifications, credentials, and training;
insurance participation information;
documents submitted for administrative review;
information about how you heard about DouLove
DouLove reviews the doula certification submitted by each Provider for verification purposes before the Provider’s profile is made available on the Platform. This verification is limited to confirming the doula certification information provided to DouLove by the Provider. For more information about Provider verification, please see our Terms of Service.
3.4 Messages
If you communicate with another User through the Platform, we collect and store those messages and related messaging information. We may use this information to deliver communications, investigate reports, maintain Platform safety and integrity, and comply with applicable law or legal process.
3.5 Support
If you contact support (including by email) or submit Feedback, we collect the information you provide, including the contents of your communications and any information needed to respond to your request.
3.6 Subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription through the Apple App Store, Apple processes your payment. We receive information about your subscription, such as subscription status and transaction identifiers, but we do not receive your full payment card information.
3.7 Technical Information
When you use the Platform, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information associated with your use of the Platform, such as IP address, device and application information, authentication and session information, and information about interactions with the Platform.
We do not collect precise geolocation information from your device. Location-based features use information you choose to provide, such as your ZIP code.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information we collect for a variety of purposes, including to:
create and maintain User accounts;
provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Platform;
support the ability to search for and filter Provider profiles;
facilitate communication between Users;
send Platform-related communications and notifications;
communicate with Users about their experiences with the Platform, such as for Feedback or reviews;
manage subscriptions and account administration;
respond to support requests;
maintain Platform security and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse;
comply with applicable law and legal process; and
enforce the DouLove Terms.
We may also use information in aggregated or de-identified form to understand usage trends and patterns and for analytics, research, product improvement, and business operations where permitted by applicable law.
4.1 Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to securely operate, provide, and maintain the website. We restrict the use of non-essential analytics and performance cookies on our website. 5. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We share information only as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise permitted or required to comply with applicable law or legal process.
We may share information in the following circumstances:
5.1 User Content and Platform Features
Information you choose to provide through profiles, reviews, communications, or other Platform features may be visible to or shared with other Users as appropriate to the feature you use.
5.2 Provider Profiles
Certain limited Provider information may also be visible to individuals who are not signed in to or do not have a DouLove account.
5.3 Service Providers
We work with trusted service providers that help us operate the Platform. Depending on the services they provide, these providers may assist with:
account authentication;
secure hosting and data storage;
website hosting;
email communications infrastructure; and
subscription management.
These providers may process information in connection with the services they provide to us, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
5.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if we believe doing so is necessary to:
comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests;
protect the rights, property, or safety of the Platform, our Users, or others;
investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of the Terms or AUP; or
establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
5.6 Business Transfers
If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information covered by this Privacy Policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
6. ACCOUNT DELETION
You may delete your account at any time using the account deletion feature available in the Platform. You may also contact us if you need assistance with deleting your account.
Deleting your account does not necessarily result in the immediate removal of all associated information from our systems. Residual copies may remain in backups until they are overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course. We may retain certain information after account deletion where necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, resolve disputes, enforce the DouLove Terms, maintain security, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the Platform.
When information is no longer needed, we will delete it or de-identify it as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.
8. SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we collect.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We encourage Users to protect their account credentials and notify us promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.
9. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable law. These rights may include the ability to:
request access to a copy of the personal information we maintain about you;
request correction of inaccurate personal information;
request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions; and

10. CONSUMER HEALTH INFORMATION
Certain information you provide through the Platform, such as information relating to pregnancy, birth, or birth preferences, may be considered health information, consumer health information, sensitive information, or another protected category of personal information under applicable law.
If you create a Customer account, we collect certain pregnancy-related and birth-related information as part of the account registration and profile setup process. We use this information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected personal information from an individual under the age of 18, we will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include deleting the information and terminating the account, as appropriate. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us.
12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting an updated version and updating the Effective Date. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will provide additional notice when required by applicable law or as we reasonably determine appropriate (e.g., in-app notice).
